Today is Easter (if you didn't already know), and now I see it as more then a holiday, more then an occasional thing once or twice a year. To think that Jesus conquered that grave for us..wow. My wise little brother said today that the rolling stone of the tomb represents our sins being pushed away. Gotta love those wise little brothers. :)
Anyways, we went to church this morning. The pastor told the most beautiful story. At the water baptisms last week, there was a man who can't stand and he literally had 2 or 3 guys help him be baptized. Is that amazing or what? In a way, I wanted the same thing he did. I'm not sure if it will make sense written but I'm gonna try it anyway. I want to do EVERYTHING I can despite the limitations the world puts on us. I want to be willing to do everything and anything I can to honor God. It's not good enough for me to try to limit myself to just going to church, I want to have God in my heart every day of the week. Does that make sense?
During worship, the Holy Spirit helped me see something so powerful. I don't want anymore to wait until Easter to celebrate Jesus' resurrection. I mean, He gave us life! Shouldn't we be using that new life for God instead of once or twice a year? I don't want anymore to be an "okay" follower of Christ, one that just goes to church once a week and tries not to sin. I want to live...by getting an intimate relationship with God and being His Light. <3
A few days ago, my family and I were listening to KSGN when the most beautiful thing came on the radio that really made me think:
It's almost Easter. The little girls are dressed in darling dresses and the boys in shirt and tie. But this Easter, let's remember who has His Clothes ripped and His Back torn.
I tried to word it as best as I could. Honestly it totally opened my eyes so I could see. I mean, we spend our time fixing all these fancy foods when Jesus gave His Blood and His Body for us. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to do these things (especially since I love cooking) but when we worry and stress so much about it, then there is a problem. So this Easter and the rest of the year, let's remember who died for our sins and rose again from the dead, and be His Light in the darkness. Amen! :) Have a good Easter everyone.
