It has been placed on my heart to do a series more in depth about the armor of God. But before we can talk about our armor, we must first assess the battle. I personally love the way the King James Bible worded this, and I would love to share it with you:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." -Ephesians 6:12
Satan consistently tries to put a stumbling block in our lives, and its something that is intoxicating our lives, families, relationships, and churches. A lot of awareness for "silent killers" like cigarettes and carbon monoxide, but I believe there is something that is way bigger than this that is affecting us daily and it is Satan trying to hinder us from our love of God. Things like distractions, worries, pride, selfishness, hurt, pain, bad news...they are trying to rob us of our joy and our contentedness in God. When we are so consumed with worrying, how can I enjoy the simple pleasures of life that God brings us? When we are so consumed with our selves, how can we be servants of God in humility, worshiping Him in Spirit and Truth? God has called us to this amazing life, but Satan is trying to rob us of it!! We must say no! Jesus was tempted in Matthew 4, and every word He said was backed by Scripture. Am I in my Word? It is our welfare, It is our refuge...you never know when you'll be without Your Bible. :)
In a world full of compromises, tied back hands, worries, hurts, pains, conformation..we must reflect the hope that possesses us, the joy that gives us the hope to keep going. Stay guarded girls!
