"This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism." -Acts 6:5 [emphasis added]
Today in my Bible readings I found this verse and I really feel as if God is ministering to me. Nicolas was once in the most destructive religions, Judaism. But God found him and salvation was being revived to his hungry soul. And because of the Spirit within him, in Acts he was chosen to be one of the seven followers. And even today, God is using this verse to bless others! It simply blows my mind!!
I can relate to Nicolas. It seems like I am constantly messing up and doing things I regret. But God has found me in the midst of my ruin, and given me hope. I will follow Him. He's everything to me.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17
