a sprinkle of patience, a dash of love

Yesterday I was walking my new Corgi puppy George in the yard while it was raining. He's not potty trained and he's only three months old, so he gets easily distracted. I took him out because well, its not the best thing when your dog does his "business" in our living room. George was sniffing some flowers, and as the rain poured down, I got frustrated he got so distracted. Then a thought came to my mind: is that how we are with God?

As believers on Earth, it is very easy to get distracted. Money, fashion, drama, and the glamor of this life often tempts us to stray away from the faith. It wants us to gain the whole world, yet forfeit our soul. I wonder how many times God is trying to tell us to literally do our business here on Earth. I wonder how many times He's shed a tear because of our apathetic lifestyle. He's reaching out..holding out His Hand to tell us to let go of the sin that entangles us and just trust Him.

He's reaching out His Hand, telling you to focus on Him solely and with everything you have. It's not going to be easy. There is going to be times where we suffer for our faith. He's inviting you to a relationship with Him, a non-compromising, relentless, and all consuming relationship. There's something I need to ask: are you ready?
