Part 2 (last part) of the Reaching a New Height of Faith

Part 2

How we can apply it to our own lives daily

I feel that there are several ways we could apply it to our lives, but in this series I’d really like to touch up on that has been tragically neglected due to the falling economy, foreclosure, and downright depressing times in the world we live in as we try to stay 110% committed to God, our Love and Savior.

I feel that a very big message we can get across from Z’s story is that we need to take a giant stride absent from our comforting neighborhood. I grasp that something like this impossible for some, and effortless for others, but we all need to step out of the zone where we hide in a corner with our Bibles. I feel that we need to take further action and not be afraid. As Scripture from the Bible says

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."–Joshua 1:9

I love this verse. God is basically telling Joshua to go out and not be afraid because He is with you. Is that overpowering or what? The fact that God is with you no matter what wear and tear you go through, He is with you.

The way we can apply this to our lives is very obvious, yet often neglected. I feel that we can relate to this because maybe somebody won’t make this as clear as climbing up a Sycamore-Fig tree, but there are people in the world alone. People who don’t know Jesus.. How many of the same people do you see in either A) the locker room B) the hallway in passing-periods or C) in lunch? Have you ever seen them lonely? Sitting in the lunch tables unaccompanied? Have you ever considered sitting with them? I deal with this same dilemma daily. Imagine if we spent a week sitting with them every day of the week. Imagine the impact that we can make on some people by just loving them. Jesus hung out with Z and did you see that impact on his life? I feel that if we just take a walk outside our comfort zone, and we don’t listen to what the world says that we can make an impact on our family, friends, and even the people who we don’t know whom yet we see on a daily basis. I won’t just say this and stay in the reassuring zone; I am going to take this step-by-step right with you. I pray that this series was somewhat encouraging and that we can all reach a new elevation of faith like I feel Z did. I pray that we can all make an impact on our family, friends, and people we do not know. I know it won’t be easy, but when Jesus hung out with Z, he wasn’t exactly the most liked either. I imagine Him being mocked for His decision to get outside what the world says, and go and love people. I know that when we do this we are not alone, for God is with us wherever we go. I know that we cannot accomplish this without God, for we are only mortal and human. But with the strength that we receive from God, we can give it out to the world and not just keep it for ourselves.

God bless, Julia.
