Psalm 146 3-4

"Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirits depart, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing."
-Psalm 146 3-4

I LOVE this verse. It reminds me to not put trust here on Earth, but to focus on what really matters in my life: following Christ. Beauty will sag. Muscles turn to flab. These things on Earth are temporary. They aren't going to last forever . . .♥

When you read this, you probably say, “Well, what if I am just gifted like that?" I am not saying not to use the gifts God gave you. What I am saying is that you use them to honor God. When you have adoring love for someone, say your best friend, you want to treat the person with respect, have a strive to see them, and just...adore them. Why can't we do that for God too? He builds you that way so you can honor Him by using the gifts He gave you.

What if you don't know your gifts quite yet? Then, pray to God about it! In Parable of the Talents (if you want to read it in the Bible, it's located in Matthew 25: 14-30..it really is an amazing parable!, the master just wants his servants to use the money he gave them. Instead, one guy decided to dig it in the ground to save for later. All the other servants spent the money...except for him. The master was very upset. It goes the same for God. When God gives you a gift, you don't want to just store it in the ground for later, right? You want to use it to honor God..because He gave it to you! When you get a gift, don't you say thank you, make a card, or just simply make them feel special by hugging them! Well, God gave us an ULTIMATE gift- the gift of life! He created us special and even sent His son out to die for us!!! That to me, means a life of worship and devotion for the gift He gave us. Do you want to use your gifts (the gift of life, the gifts that God gives us to worship Him) or do you want it to be in the ground, stored away?
