Having an unselfish and willing heart for God

Having an unselfish and willing heart for God
Imagine that you are doing something that you love. It could be graphic design, texting your friends, or IM'ing people. Just imagine that for now.
Then someone asks for a favor or advice or help or even just to talk to you 1 on 1 causing you to make sacrifices and help them.
Say what now? You see, we live in a selfish world. A dog eat dog world some would say. Where we must be served first before others.
And when  we do help that other person?
We kick our feet, moan, groan and act like it is the hardest thing since math class. We complain and make the person feel bad for wanting help. We expect praise for our "good deed". We want recognition and gifts for helping them...even with a sour attitude.
...We need to turn this around.

We need to have an unselfish but willing heart for God.

First we need to understand that we cannot do this alone.  Just like anything else, you need an instructor. God is our instructor. We can't learn how to not be selfish without Him. Through prayer, God will help us become unselfish. I struggle with this myself on a daily basis. If you don't know this already, I have a huge problem with my ego. However, I am continuing praying for strength and wisdom. ♥ Remember when it seems impossible to continue on with being unselfish Jesus is the cheerleader cheering you on every step of the way and holding your hand.

Second I really feel as if we need to follow Christ's example for us. Jesus helped and loved on so many people..and never ever ever once complained. He was mocked for what He did, but never complained. We need to have the same love, God's love, that He gave to others. It is so very crucial that we follow Christ's example of loving others. We are the body of Christ. This is so important. If we don't live like Christ, then we have no right to call ourselves Followers. We need to have Christ impact our daily actions, words, and thoughts. We need to not be of world and selfish...but of God's Love.

I pray that we can be an example to others...and not complain. Not moan. Not expect something in return. But have a willing heart and unselfish heart.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if working for the Lord, not men."- Colossians 3:23
