wI was in my room listening to Jesus Culture and I began doing pirouettes. I was never able to do a complete pirouette so I guess you could imagine my joy. The joy in spinning and not getting tired made me so blissful and so full of life. Then I stopped for a little bit. I tried to do it again, but I ended up having severe pain in my foot while doing it. Determined not to give up, I kept working on it until I could do a set of pirouettes.
I think we can all relate to this situation. Spiritually when we feel like so full of joy and blissful, its easy not to get tired. I mean its like we're on a role, so why slow down? But there is something that tries to stop us from dancing; it's called foot pain. We all have different types of pain and Satan wants to continue to cause us pain and sorrow. But then we call on the LORD to guide us in our path, like a ballet teacher. Yes, there is still pain, but fortunately we have the Lord, the Prince of Peace to guide us in our pain and help us with the pain in a way that Christ would, and turn our mourning into joy. (Jeremiah 31:13)
So yes, when the pains of the world over take us and try to block us from our goal...keep remembering that Christ is right there with us encouraging us to keep dancing and never give up.
"You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cries." -Psalm 10:17
