The Walk
By Julia
Jesus said, “Come follow me!”
I am knocking at the door but you have the key
Would you let me in and have a new life begin?
I said yes, but little did I know
That this little seed, with much love and hope, would grow
He took me in, let go of my chains, and victoriously healed me of my pains!
But to this day I do not understand
How a Savior so grand could love me, a sinner, who was once in quicksand.
He taught me life and how to love
But most importantly that every perfect gift is from above
He adopted me as His Child and gave me a plan
Set me on a Rock and gave me a new place to stand.
But then Jesus had to go that day,
I begged Him not to, that He would stay.
He insisted that He does His Father’s Will,
And so that day He was killed.
Before He left, He said to me,
Though He will leave the Earth, His Spirit will be with me.
Three days later, He rose above.
He defeated the grave, and walked out of that cave!
Oh how we all sang praise, For He is the King of all days.
He went up to Heaven,
Though His Spirit is with me at all times,
He’ll be here to wipe every tear,
To help me love my peers,
And even though I have fears, He is here.
Jesus taught me something important that day,
To really love my neighbor no matter what they say,
He taught me how to trust Him in good and bad,
Even while I’m in this valley, He will turn my pain to being glad.
He taught me that even when I go astray,
He wants me back, He wants me to stay.
Jesus taught me how to love,
And even though He is up above,
I feel Him, He is up above,
And I hear Him saying “Very well dear.”

I adore this poem. I can grasp the love that you have for God and vice versa. A sense of abundance runs through my veins as I follow the words on your blog. God gave you a gift and I am thankful that you are using it.
