God shaped hole
This morning, I woke up to the song "God Shaped Hole" by Plumb, because of the movie Bruce Almighty in the next room. I thought to myself, why am I waking up to this particular song? God ended up using it for a divine reason, as always. You see, lately, I've been feeling kind of empty, kind of futile. You see, God uses the imagery of flowers a lot in His Word. God wants us to reap amazing fruits, vibrant in their different forms, textures, and flavors...and I guess lately I've been a barren field, with nothing to reap. I've been using worldly solutions when God is trying to tell me to look to Him. Another sign of God today: I was reading Matthew a few minutes ago, and I'm at the Beautitues. The simplicity of the humbling words really struck me "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." Wow! Have you ever been so hungry after a long road trip that you feel so instantly refreshed after the first bite of food? I've been on a long journey spiritually, and now that I am home, I will eat at the love feast God has for me in His Word, in His Promises, in His Love, and finally be filled. And when I am hungry again, God will fill that hole. And it repeats. And repeats. And it never runs dry! Isn't God amazing or what?
