Open our eyes, Oh Lord.

Have you ever gazed on the life of a newborn puppy? Sure, they are adorable, but they give such a big message that you don't want to miss. Today I found myself in the shoes of a newborn puppy. I wonder how they felt? One day they have closed eyes; so accustomed to the darkness. Another moment they victoriously open their eyes; and WOW! they can see their family, their home, their world.
As Christians we are the same. When we are so used to living a life of darkness with no light, suddenly Christ enters our lives and we are never the same. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to the hurt, the grief, the mourning, and the compromises of this world. We see everything that is going on around us now; but it is our choice to be obedient to God. Right now I am reading Genesis, and the obedience of Abraham blows me away! When God told him that he had to sacrifice his son, Abraham was already building the fire and calling Issac. He packed up everything he had, and he didn't know where he was going- but the assurance that God brought him was enough. This makes me wonder: we have our eyes open, we see the hurt, will you be obedient to God and step up?
Open our eyes Oh God. Help us align in unity, in strength, and be obedient. You sent us to be disciples, going out in the world and sharing You...give us the courage to step out. I trust and love you God.
