So what can I say
And what can I do
But offer this heart
Oh God, completely to You
[ The Stand from Hillsong United]
We sang this song at Generate a few weeks ago, and while I was closing my eyes singing to the Lord, a mental image popped up in my mind. It was of a weary traveler, looking constantly for a place to stay. Motels, shacks, houses...they all rejected him. He was tired of crying and his faith was dying. Then a Roman solider ordered him to help Jesus carry this cross. Who was this Jesus?, the man wondered. On Jesus' face he saw humility and grace, and even without seeing His miracles or even hearing His voice, the man knew he found somewhere to stay that night, in Jesus' Arms.
"As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross." -Matthew 27:32
Lately I've been feeling very unmotivated to read my Bible or even pray. I've been absorbed in myself, and it hasn't been good or abundant. But I am saying no to what the world says and yes to Jesus. I am ready to serve and I know I have a lot to learn, but in every moment I will praise God for the opportunity.
Because it's my life and I'm choosing to praise Him
Because it's my choice and I want to follow Him
Because God set me free, I'm saying no to bondage
And because God loves me, I'm embracing it today
