let selflessness be the new trend.

I'm doing a study in Matthew right now, taking it piece by piece and really analyzing the context and something gloriously hit me. In Matthew 10, Jesus talks about the importance of selflessness. Here are some key points from that chapter:
Jesus told us to reach the lost sheep of Israel.
Personally for me, it is really easy for me to be a comfortable Christian. I'll go to church, raise my hands in worship, and nod my head during the sermon. But the thing is, it's what you do outside of church that matters too. I want to make love my agenda and allowing the true definition of my self to be found in further glorifying the name of Jesus Christ the one true God. Entering high school next year, I am ready to share the love of God across the school and shake the gates of hell as I enter in fearlessly and courageously because of the confidence given to me from God.
Jesus told us to preach that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
As a teenager, I know that a lot of the time my words hurt and I don't even realize it. Now, I want to be able to thoroughly examine each word that comes out of my mouth and make sure it is for encouraging each other, instead of tearing people apart.
Freely Give
This one is a toughy for me. I tend to spend my money on clothes which, if you saw my dresser, you'd know that I already have too many of. Instead of putting myself first, I want God to have a 10% of all my earnings, then donate to a ministry such as a food pantry, and then after that,  see if I still want those new pair of boots. Take no extra baggage
To be honest, I am prone to hoarding baggage in my life. I need to let go and allow God to work in my life. The memories of my past still hurt, but it is crucial that I ask for forgiveness from God, and then allow myself to be forgiven. I want nothing to hold me back in this spiritual race that we are running. I want to finish strong, victorious, and be a conqueror!

God, I give all my life to you. Use it to further Your Kingdom. Empty me and overflow me with You. I know it's not much, but I give you everything of my life. I want you to reign unchallenged in my heart. I love you and I thank you Papa for allowing me to have second, third, fourth... chances. I pray that many lives will be touched by You and that you'd stir in each believer's hearts to follow Your great commission. Amen.
