Washing Machines.

Washing Machines. How many times have you gotten an item of clothing dirty and then your mom or you washed it for you? I have gotten my clothes dirty from playing with chalk to getting a fat lip in 4th grade (wasn't the best time to see me let me just tell you that.) I love how something like that can get dirty and then it is washed away. It feels good to be clean doesn't it? The same goes for sin. We become dirty with sin by various ways like lying, stealing, envy, sexual immorality, coveting but by the blood of Jesus, God's only Son washed away our sin and rose again from the dead.
Salvation is a FREE gift that can happen in a split second by praying to God that God sent His Son to die on a wooden cross for our sins. He won't turn you away or tell you to "pick a number". He loves listening to you! Then after you pray that prayer, you are assured that you will be in Heaven forever and a part of God's family. :D Jesus loves you and can not wait until that day you commit your life to Him.
We can not, however, use God as a tool. What I mean by saying this is that we cannot sin on purpose then expect God to cover you. I am NOT saying to be perfect. We will slip. We will fall. But because of Jesus' love for us we can pick our feet up and move on. There will still be the same trials. But because we have Jesus in our heart we can soar on wings like eagles and have a better attitude about our trials. I was searching through my Bible and I found this verse that completely goes with this:
"Even youth grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord with renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles."-Isaiah 30-31 NIV
Once we become a Christian, we can change our hearts. Pray to God for strength not to do the things of your past. I myself have struggled with my past and how to change it. I am slowly getting better, but not because of me, but because of God holding my hand through every single step of the way.
I encourage everyone who has not given their life to Christ yet or you want to renew your life today and is reading this to do it now. I will pray for you every single step of the way on your new walk with Christ. May the glory of God be with you wherever you go.
Amen.
