Why didn’t God answer my prayer?
Welcome to my 2nd series on this blog! I am so excited to do this. This series is called why didn’t God answer my prayer?
There are three major parts I am planning to focus on, and tonight is timing and these are:
1) Timing
2) Trust
3) Teaching
So let’s begin!
Timing.
Have you ever wanted something so incredibly bad that you are willing to save up for it? I remember growing up and wanting something so bad, I would pledge I would save up for it. The next day, I was saving up with a whole different thing. Have you ever done this? To tell you the truth, I think I was saving up for another Build a Bear and then a bike or something like that.
What have you prayed to God that even you would find ridiculous? I will openly admit that I have prayed for the most ridiculous things that I didn’t even need! I once lost my teddy bear named Bear and I told God, “If you found my teddy bear, I will pay you some day or something like that.” I was 7 and recalling it brings me funny memories of the past. (: Sometimes God will say, “Not yet” or “Maybe later” or even “no.” He isn’t trying to ruin your life; He is just making sure you are spiritually ready. Sometimes it will feel that He isn't listening, but He is. For example, if you lost a dad and prayed day and night and he still died, it isn't because God hates you. You can turn it into praise. At least he is in a safer place and use it to testify your story because a whole lot of us can relate to it. He knew you before you were born, so of course He will always know the best way for you. Remain committed to it and make sure you have the right reasons why you wanted that particular thing.
Remain committed in prayer.
Like I mentioned before, I wanted something and then the next day something else. If you feel like you are ready to go on a mission’s trip or tell a friend about Jesus, pray constantly. I know, sometimes it feels like it is just the hardest thing since Trig, but just continue to pray. We must stay committed and not back out of what we need to be committed too. Prayer does work wonders! I have seen my best friends and even my family get in sticky situations and survive! We must put all our trust in Him, for He is our Rock Eternal, and that He can heal the broken hearted and make the blind see.
Have the right reasons for the thing you are praying for
In Jesus’ name are three very well-liked words that we often attach onto our prayers. But to me it has such a deeper meaning. It isn’t something you tie on to the list of your prayers. Fellow believers, we must be cautious on if we are praying for these things for the right reasons. Make sure that the thing(s) you are praying for will also honor God’s kingdom in Heaven. I know how easy it can be to get carried away, to ask for the “perfect birthday” or that “cute outfit”, but honestly is that going to honor God’s kingdom? I want to be praying for the right reasons such as strength to make it through the day and wisdom to help the daily choices I make and not put God in a box for when I need something or feel like being a Christian. I want total devotion and love by meditating Scriptures, constant prayers, and worship to the Only God. It’s going to be hard, but through God all things are possible. Amen.
Psalm 77:1 "I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me."
Psalm 1:2 "But His delight is in the law of the Lord, and
Tomorrow will be trust. I sincerely hope that you liked the first part of the series, two more to go. May God bless you and your families.
