Setting An Example Part 2

*Sorry for the lack of posting. Due to exams, solos, and other end-of-the-year activities, I haven't had time. But no fears! I am back to posting at least 1-2 a week.*

"Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1st Timothy 4:12

Last post was about speech, and how we can set an example by using our voices to be glorifying God. If you missed it, you could check it out here.

Today's post is about being an example in our lives. I don't know about you, but my agenda usually looks like this: school, food, friends, family, sleep and then start all over again. It's easy for us to be tired, complain, and yell at others. It's typical. But does that mean it's okay? Does it really mean its glorifying to our Heavenly Father and showing the world we love Jesus?

We have two choices: either live life positive or negative.

Living positive is the way God wants us to live. We can set the example by just simply looking at life in the way the Lord wants us to. In John 10:10 it says "The thief has comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." The version New Living Translation also says," The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." What I love about this is that Jesus wants us to have this amazing, rich, and satisfying life. He wants and desires for us to be free of sin, and in love with Him.By remembering that God wants us to love others and Himself, we can live life abundantly, encourage others, share the gospel, and serve. It isn't boring. In fact, serving Jesus and living to His Will and Commands and living the life He wants us to, is the most exciting thing ever! If you hear any missions stories, you can see that by living God's abundant life, they have been filled with the Spirit and never bored. Time goes by too fast. You never know if you will die right now, in this split second. The New Testament states so many times that the end time is coming. What if it came right now? We never know. Instead shouldn't we focus every waking moment, every second, every fiber of our being towards Christ, pleasing Him, serving Him, and doing His Will?

For most people summer is around the corner or even here. A common attribute of summer is to get a summer makeover: new hair, wardrobe, shoes, ect. This summer, let's ask the Holy Spirit to change our attitude on life. Let's ask Him for a new perspective on life, instead of taking it for granted that we cherish every minute to show God's Love, and remember that we are here to serve. Let's set an example in our lives today by just displaying God's Love in our attitudes.
